A poem written on a scrap of paper by Elvis Presley has just sold for a staggering $20,035 at auction. The handwritten poem, "Ode to a Robin", was featured in an auction of Presley's possessions at gottahaverockandroll.com. The scrawled ditty, written on stationery paper, was well known among Presley's most dedicated fans.
Sometimes Presley recited it on stage and the poem was even believed to be on his answering machine at home.
The startling sale figure, though, is no surprise. The jumpsuit Presley wore at his legendary 1972 Madison Square gig fetched $212,588 at auction.

Elvis Presley's fingerprints have been sold at a London auction house for $81,740.
(September 5, 2008) An application for a gun permit filled in by Elvis Presley and containing his only authenticated set of fingerprints have been sold at a London auction house for $81,740. The form, for the state of California and requesting permission to carry a Colt 38 revolver and a Beretta 7.6 automatic, was completed by the singer in 1970. It contains not only his confirmation of his sex, hair and eye colour, height, weight and date of birth but a full set of fingerprints from both hands. This document is the only record of the late singer prints known to exist.

I've been an avid collector of Elvis Presley memorabilia and autographs for more than 35 years. In the process I've managed to acquire numerous personal affects owned by Elvis, including large numbers of authenticated signatures on movie contracts, personal checks, letters and "in-person" signed documents and photographs for fans collected across the years.
Over the years I've seen and been offered literally hundreds, possibly thousands of "genuine" Elvis autographs - most of them fake.
